Job Title: SSSTS Data Engineer Supervisor

Location: London & Abu Dhabi
Project Duration: 3 Months
Employment Type: Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SSSTS Data Engineer Supervisor to lead a team in a high-profile data centre fit-out project. The role will be hands-on, ensuring the installation, termination, and commissioning of structured cabling (CAT5, fibre optics), switches, and other critical network infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee a team of data engineers while coordinating with four other supervisors to ensure efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise and manage a team of data engineers during the installation and fit-out of structured cabling and network hardware in white space environments.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, adhering to SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) standards.

*

Oversee the installation, termination, and testing of CAT5, CAT6, fibre optic cabling, and network switches.

*

Coordinate with other supervisors and project managers to maintain workflow efficiency and resolve on-site challenges.

*

Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure adherence to site-specific safety requirements.

*

Provide technical support and hands-on assistance where required.

*

Ensure all work is completed to industry standards and project specifications.

*

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for project progress and issue resolution.

Requirements:

*

SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification.

*

Extensive hands-on experience with structured cabling, network infrastructure, and white space data centre fit-outs.

*

Strong leadership and team management skills with experience supervising teams of engineers.

*

Proficiency in the installation, termination, and testing of CAT5, CAT6, and fibre optic cabling.

*

Experience with network switches, patching, and connectivity.

*

Strong understanding of data centre safety protocols and industry standards.

*

Willingness to travel between London and Abu Dhabi for the project duration.

*

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

*

Additional safety certifications (e.g., ECS, CSCS, IPAF, First Aid at Work).

*

Manufacturer certifications for structured cabling or fibre optics.

*

Experience working in live data centre environments.
