Sr. Planning Manager, AMZL Last Mile Long Range Planning

The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Long Range Planning Team leads discussions which drive strategies to enable business growth and give direction to scale at the right cost.

The ideal candidate is passionate about leading programs to deliver big results leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record and experienced in driving results in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data.

They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large transactional volumes and big data and enjoys the challenge of highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous business context with making informed frugal decision.

A successful candidate knows how to build small, strong performing teams, and shares their love of working across teams, drive programs, lead discussions, work with data to deliver results.

The ideal candidate has internal drive to hire and develop the best, challenge the status quo, demonstrate excellent analytical skills, strong technical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

They would be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Drive long term vision for the team and business and design technical solutions in partnership with product teams
  2. Mitigate risks by understanding regular operations, execution, define areas of improvement and develop solutions
  3. Actively manage the growth of the network and connect with partner teams to design long term roadmaps
  4. Lead your team to analyze drivers of significant forecast misses to continuously improve planning accuracy
  5. Clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track expectations
  6. Drive E2E improvements to support cost reduction
  7. Maintain regular communication with WW Planning teams to leverage experience; utilize existing tools and help to drive development of tool improvements
  8. Promote process improvement and standardization of processes across the network

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5+ years of program or project management experience
  2. Experience in supply chain
  3. Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  4. Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  5. Business level of English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  2. Master's degree or MBA in related field
  3. Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
