SQL Server DBA – Manchester

On behalf of our market-leading client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for an experienced SQL Server DBA. As SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for managing and providing support to all aspects of the database landscape, working closely with colleagues to design, build, and manage database solutions.

The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for:

Implementing and managing coding standards, security, and auditing procedures.

Implementing and managing monitoring/ proactive alerting processes

Reporting to the DBA Lead within the Data Operations pillar and inside the DaaS team, working on the support of our core platform database estate and assisting with a move into Azure for a data transformation project.

Conduct root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planning.

Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements.

Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies always.

SQL code reviews and optimisation suggestions.

The SQL Server DBA will have the following:

Be confident in taking ownership and leading SQL Server-related projects.

Possesses experience working with MS-SQL and T-SQL from SQL 2008 through 2019.

Be confident and enthusiastic, willing to offer innovative solutions that will assist with our continued success.

Have expert-level knowledge and quantifiable hands-on experience in performance tuning.

Have advanced T-SQL skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Azure experience highly desirable.
