Location: Remote with once-a-month onsite presence in South Wales.
Contract Length: 6- months

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong experience in Power BI analytics to join our client on a contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your database management skills while leveraging analytics to drive actionable insights. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the smooth operation, performance, and security of our database infrastructure and analytics processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of SQL Server databases.
Monitor and manage database performance, including query optimisation and index management.
Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
Enforce database security measures, including user role management, permissions, and encryption.

Data Integration:

Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the SQL Server environment.
Ensure data quality and consistency across all data pipelines.

Power BI Analytics:

Develop, create, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
Translate complex datasets into user-friendly visualizations and insights for stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed.

Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: 1-2 years in SQL database administration and Power BI analytics.
Technical Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with SQL Server management and administration.
Proven expertise in creating Power BI dashboards and reports.
Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools.
Familiarity with database security best practices.
Basic understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous learning
