Your new role
Working in a technology team of 15, you will work within the Data team alongside the infrastructure and service delivery team responsible for supporting and maintaining existing data infrastructure. Your role will be to extract data, build reports and create data pipelines.
Other day-to-day tasks will include database administration as well as designing and implementing new pipelines.You will perform standard DBA and IT administration tasks such as Domain Security Administration, Domain User administration, Database Backup/Restore, Transaction Log Management and engage with end-user departments to fully understand and document their data analytics requirements.
Once you have fully understood their requirements, you will translate these into BI solutions, using generic SQL Server and third-party tools (such as SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, Azure, AWS) and to integrate them into the business.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will need at least 3 years practical experience in an IT environment carrying out the administration of SQL databases in a commercial environment.
Creation of SQL Jobs, Stored Procedures, Web Services and other automation mechanisms and building data warehouses and multidimensional cubes.
You will ideally hold a degree qualification within a technology-related field, but this is not essential if you can demonstrate strong SQL skills along with the ability to manipulate complex data.
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and above including SSMS, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Language, writing database queries, triggers and stored procedures along with experience of distributing results using differing technologies.
Previous experience within a similar role as a data analyst is required, and you may need, at times, to liaise with senior stakeholders and other members of the organisation, so an outgoing and confident personality would fit in well.
