About PXC

We are PXC, the UK’s largest provider of wholesale connectivity. Our vision is to be the UK’s #1 wholesale platform, a one-stop shop provider of connectivity, voice, cloud and security underpinned by the UK’s most robust, secure, resilient and reliable network.

Born from the combination of Virtual1 and TalkTalk’s wholesale services and national network business, we employ 1100 people across our 3 core sites (Salford, London and North Macedonia).

Our mission is clear, to be the UK’s best company to work for and best to work with. We believe this success is driven by the power of our employees. We empower our people to become true experts in their field who embody our values every day: we care; we challenge; we commit.

About the Role

The Architecture Practice contains several teams of Programme, Project and Solution Architects working across all functional areas of PXC.

The team for this specific role specialises in designing cross domain software solutions focused on our product portfolio, which spans all divisions of PXC. The product set could span everything we deliver including broadband, TV, high-speed Ethernet and corporate network solutions. The solutions designed by the team cover the full product lifecycle and ensure we adhere to Architecture best practice as defined by the Architecture Review Board.

A Project Architect within Architecture and Software Solutions defines architectural solutions for our business initiatives which deliver on our company objectives, and which align with our enterprise architecture principles.

The software solutions often involve complex processes and systems and must align with industry best-practises and patterns like event-driven architecture, microservices, and domain-driven design.

They lead the development of project architecture, across multiple architectural domains whilst maintaining an end-to-end view of the overall solution.

They will own the project architecture vision which defines the strategy of how we will deliver (“transition states”) and informs the overall roadmap.

  • Deliver clear and concise solutions, ensuring that complex concepts are easily understood and actionable by all stakeholders, facilitating effective decision-making and project progression.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on other architects’ designs, ensuring they adhere to architectural standards, patterns, principles and align with overall strategic objectives.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain open communication with stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact while working to business stakeholder strategies and plans.
  • Lead workshops and guide decision-making processes, fostering collaboration and ensuring stakeholders are aligned on architectural decisions and project goals.
