Senior Service Charge Accountant - OUR CLIENT is an established real estate investment trust who specialise in alternative real estate. They have been established for over 20 years and are continually growing through new investment and development opportunities across the UK. They are now looking for a Service Charge Accountant to be responsible for all aspects of the service charges of the allocated portfolio including assisting property and facilities managers.

THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Service Charge Accountant:

Manage service charge accounting - Own and oversee all aspects of service charge accounting across a property portfolio.
Support budget and reconciliation processes - Assist in creating, issuing, and reconciling annual service charge budgets and year-end reports.
Ensure compliance and system updates - Maintain compliance with RICS guidelines and update Landmark and other systems accordingly.
Handle reporting and analysis - Produce quarterly reports, maintain trackers, and analyse budget vs expenditure for stakeholders.
Coordinate transitions and setup - Manage handovers from external agents and ensure accurate setup for TIR leases and schedules.
Provide team support and training - Guide team members, respond to queries, and train new staff on procedures and systems.
Maintain accurate records and postings - Reconcile control accounts, book journals, and ensure data integrity across templates and ledgers.

THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Service Charge Accountant role:

Ideally strong background in commercial or residential service charge accounting.
AAT qualified with 3+ years' relevant experience.
Experience of multi-schedule service charges and complex leases.
Skilled in data management and financial reporting.
Excellent communication and time management.
Able to work independently and manage workload.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Committed to delivering quality work with integrity.
