Job Description

About the Role:

Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of an Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance Framework across the Association. You'll take the lead on providing Data Governance best practices to both IT and our multiple LoB's and act as the facilitator of our Data Owner and Steward community.

You Will:

  1. Develop, implement, enforce, and improve the Data Governance strategy, framework, procedures, and standards.
  2. Monitor and enforce goals and KRIs related to Data management.
  3. Based on core program goals, define a set of measures and metrics that provide both leading and lagging indicators of system user activity for both compliance and value.
  4. Lead on establishing best practices for our data, including an Association-wide Taxonomy & Data Dictionary.
  5. Work with team members to understand data requirements and promote awareness of Data management requirements.
  6. Based on the data life cycle, identify control points to ensure data integrity and availability.
  7. Lead and help deliver data awareness training to promote a data-driven & enriched data culture.
  8. Partner with our Data Architecture team to collectively identify ways to reduce inefficiency in our data.
  9. Work with data domain owners and data stewards to establish and enforce data quality metrics, monitoring, and improvement processes.
  10. Help Data Architecture team to establish and implement Data Access framework across the association.
  11. Ability to work across national and organizational boundaries to build support, address issues, find and address risks quickly and with transparency that address current needs and anticipate future opportunities.
  12. Establish a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with important partners.
  13. Provide expertise and consult on all new major data-related or data-intensive programs.


You Have:

  1. A post-graduate information management or data governance qualification or experience working within a complex business information process change/transformation effort(s).
  2. An understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management, data modeling & Master Data Management.
  3. Experience implementing Data Governance programs (in a global business).
  4. A good understanding of the agile project management methodology.
  5. Ability to work with system users to elicit and formally define their requirements.
  6. Experience of using Data Integration technologies such as PowerBI, Atlan, etc.
  7. Experience in leading data transformation projects preferably across multiple regions or products.
