Ingesting and appropriately modeling financial instruments and alternative datasets is a problem that continues to grow in complexity with the increasing sophistication and interconnected nature of global derivatives markets. We are looking for a Data Software Engineer to join our Global Data Engineering team to build a new framework for modeling financial instruments in the cash and derivatives space that can be used in tandem with internal and external datasets to better inform low, medium, and high frequency trading strategies.

What you’ll do:

You will be a key member of a team of world-class engineers on our Global Data Engineering team tasked with solving some of the hardest problems at the intersection of trading and technology, specifically on ingesting, processing, and integrating Global financial instrument identifiers with Alternative Data sources to be used in new and existing trading strategies:

Design, develop, and deploy a data model and framework for normalizing financial instrument identifiers across vendors, markets, and historical timeframes at a global scale, which can be used with alternative datasets

Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines to ingest, process, and validate datasets from a variety of global sources using Python, C, or C++ and storing resultant datasets both on-prem and in the cloud (S3)

Engage with stakeholders across Optiver globally to build data solutions that meet the business needs

Ensure that end-to-end data solutions are deployed to a global standard that you will help to define and evolve across Optiver

Who you are:

You will need the following skills:

Programming skills in Python, C, or C++

System design skills, experience deploying data solutions at a global scale

Data modeling skills, including experience modeling financial instruments and alternative datasets to facilitate data fusion

Interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders

Ownership to hold yourself and others responsible for adhering to a high standard of work and delivery
