Description & Requirements

Bloomberg runs on data, and in Data we're responsible for acquiring and providing it to our clients. We collect, model, analyze, and publish data which is the backbone of the Bloomberg Terminal. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- all while delivering advanced insights to our clients. We're responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately.
Our Team:
Thepany Financials (CoFi) Data team designs and buildspany analysis tools for the Bloomberg Terminal. This includes applications on Bloomberg terminal which supports data related to financial analysis, analyst rmendations, and earnings estimates. We are responsible for tracking the evolution of data points from data processing to database taxonomy as well as API syntax design and front-end application development.
What's the role?
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and continuous enrichment of the metadata discovery layer. You will use your expertise to influence the vision and strategy, working along with product managers, ontologists and taxonomists to develop financial accounting taxonomies, accounting data standardization frameworks and the knowledge graph structure interconnecting these models. You will act as a domain expert, providing mentorship to product managers and other data modelers to ensure the presence of an efficient level of financial accounting rigor in the semantic representation ofpany Financial datasets.
We'll trust you to:

Develop, implement and maintain financial accounting taxonomies, standardization frameworks and other elements of the metadata discovery layer of thepany Financials products Lead the project planning and execution, while partnering with Product, Engineering and Data align on business goals Perform deep data analytics on existing data models, frameworks and metadata sets in order to drive strategic decisions; build and analyze metrics to measure business impact and success Collaborate effectively with ontologists and taxonomists to align the models with thepany-wide metadata framework and future proof solutions Stay on top of trends in financial accounting, assessing impact of significant changes on existing or future products

You'll need to have:
4+ years of previous experience with accounting or financial reporting with focus on US GAAP or IFRS Demonstrable skills in designing and maintaining financial accounting taxonomies Knowledge of howpany financials data is used by different financial market playersWe'd Love to See:
Previous experience with digital reporting taxonomies ( XBRL taxonomies) Experience with Data Analytics using Python or other language A degree/masters/PhD in a STEM subject
