FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking aSenior Data Engineerto work for our client within the banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be ahybridrole based inLeeds.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is team-orientated, is a strong communicator and can combine technical rigor with collaboration, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Optimising and improving existing models to improve the speed and quality of insight for execution teams.
  • Coaching and mentoring the engineers to uplift overall capability and build skills for the future.
  • Building relationships across the bank and being comfortable working in an agile environment to deliver customer driven solutions and high-quality software.
  • Working with the Product Owner to analyse and evaluate the feasibility of complex proposals to identify solutions that best meet business needs.
  • Keeping abreast of key technical developments and innovations within the industry and encouraging other engineers to do the same.
  • Reviewing design proposals, acceptance criteria and processes, and recommend improvements.
  • Participation in the agile process to produce more rapid delivery, supporting projects and programmes across the organisation.
  • Mentoring and development of more junior engineers, providing clear and constructive feedback and building opportunities for learning and growth.
