Senior Data Engineer role at UK Regulators' Network (Financial Conduct Authority). This position involves working in the Market Analysis & Risk Team within the Supervision, Policy, and Competition (SPC) division to provide data-informed policymaking and supervision through advanced data tools and regulatory datasets.

Location: London, Leeds, Edinburgh. Contract type: Full time, Permanent. Working pattern: Flexible working, Hybrid. Closing Date: 14/10/2025.

What will you be doing?
  • Design and build data pipelines handling millions of records daily to produce model-ready inputs for risk and market analysis.
  • Utilise large-scale proprietary datasets (e.g. transaction-level trading data, derivatives positions) and commercial data (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.).
  • Power interactive web applications and dashboards that provide system-wide views of trading and positioning across equities, fixed income, commodities, and FX using regulatory data.
  • Conduct analysis or develop analytical tools to inform policy making and supervisory actions, learning about financial markets by working closely with market experts.
  • Collaborate with the team to support data-informed policymaking and supervision in alignment with digital transformation goals.
Required/Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines for large-scale data processing.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based data tools and large-scale datasets (regulatory and market data).
  • Ability to work with both proprietary datasets and commercial data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
  • Interest in financial markets and the impact of data on policy and supervision.
