Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Location: Can be remote but must be based in Island of Ireland. Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus Job Description Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines using ETL processes and Snowflake. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient flow of data, enabling valuable insights and driving decision-making across the business. Key Responsibilities: Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Architect, build, and maintain scalable ETL data pipelines to efficiently process large volumes of data from various sources. Snowflake Development: Implement, configure, and optimise data solutions using Snowflake, ensuring data quality, integrity, and performance. ETL Processes: Develop and optimise ETL workflows to ensure smooth extraction, transformation, and loading of data. Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions. Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and accessibility for reporting, analysis, and business use cases. Automation: Automate recurring data tasks and processes to improve operational efficiency. Data Governance: Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are met. Monitoring and Optimisation: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in the data pipelines, continuously optimising for speed and efficiency. Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data pipelines, processes, and workflows. Key Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering roles with a strong background in ETL processes. Technical Expertise: Proven experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, performance tuning, and query optimisation. Programming Skills: Proficient in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python, Java, or Scala). ETL Tools: Experience with modern ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica). Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is desirable. Data Warehousing: Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data lakes, star/snowflake schemas, and relational databases. Problem-solving: Analytical thinker with a solution-oriented approach to complex data challenges.
