About the role:

We're looking for aSenior Data Engineerto join our growing Data & Analytics team at Holland & Barrett. This is a high-impact role focused on building, scaling, and managing highly available, cloud-native data integration solutions and services inAWS.


You'll work as part of a cross-functional environment alongsideData Warehousing, BI, Data Science, and Product Analyticsteams. A key responsibility will be owning and evolving ourData Lakegoverning, managing, and integrating a wide variety of consumers and publishers. You'll also collaborate closely with theData Science teamto design and deliver platforms and applications that support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.

We valuecloud-native architectures, preferbuilding tailored solutionsover buying off-the-shelf, and fully embraceautomation, monitoring, and testingacross our software, infrastructure, and data pipelines.

Key requirements:

Technical Skills




  • Proven experience withAWS services(S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR, Step Functions, Redshift, etc.).




  • Proficient inTerraform,CloudFormation, orAWS SAMfor Infrastructure as Code.




  • Skilled inDocker, containerization, and virtualization.




  • Hands-on experience withCI/CD toolslikeGitLab CI.




  • Strong programming skills inScala and/or Python.




  • Experience withserverlessandevent-driven architectures.




  • Familiarity withmonitoring toolslikeDatadogorCloudWatch.

  • Communicates complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
