Brief intro to the role:

TransferRoom is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of our DataOps and data engineering strategy. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our product.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, implement and lead our DataOps strategy
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data integration and processing
• Implement, optimise and manage ETL processes
• Expert in T-SQL, performance tuning and query optimisation
• Expertise in Azure ecosystem, tools and ETL architecture
• Familiarity with data governance, particularly GDPR compliance
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suitable for working with a small, agile team
• Technical curiosity and innovation- make recommendations to the wider business as to how to keep up to date with the best data solutions, tools and practices.

Required skills and experience:

• Minimum 4 years experience in data engineering
• Expert in T-SQL, DataOps, SQL performance tuning and query optimisation
• Good working knowledge of Azure, tooling, python and git
• Proficiency in Python
• Expert in ETL process and tooling
• Deep understanding of Data Architecture
• Fluency in English

Additional desired skills and experience:

• Experience in working with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines and Prefect.io
• Knowledge and passion for football
