The Opportunity
This is your chance to shape a nationally significant programme from the ground up. As one of the earliest team members on a long-term UK Government initiative, you'll influence the architecture of a cutting-edge data and technology ecosystem. If you're driven by solving complex technical challenges and designing secure, scalable solutions with lasting impact—this role is for you.

Your Role
As a Senior Technical Architect, you'll lead on the design and delivery of secure, cloud-native data and software architectures. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and business strategy, ensuring robust and compliant solutions support key national priorities.

You Will

Lead development of enterprise-scale data and software architectures

Shape integration strategies and design reusable, automated solutions

Collaborate with delivery teams, third parties, and stakeholders to align designs

Document conceptual, logical, and physical designs clearly

Embed security, governance, and compliance across all architecture layers

Guide solutions through governance and assurance processes

Mentor developers and junior architects to drive best practice

We're looking for someone confident in bridging the technical and strategic. You'll have experience across data and software architecture, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to steer complex projects to successful delivery.

Essentials

Strong experience designing cloud-native data solutions (AWS or Azure)

Deep knowledge of data modelling and architecture principles

Familiarity with data governance and compliance (GDPR, ISO, etc.)

Solid background in relational and columnar database design

Proficiency with BI tools and event-driven architectures

Clear communicator with experience writing technical documentation

Comfortable working with Agile, TOGAF, or similar frameworks

Desirable

Experience with Python and data libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn)

Knowledge of ETL tools (Airflow, Talend, NiFi)

Familiarity with analytics platforms (SAS, Posit)

Prior work in high-performance or large-scale data environments

Why Join?
This is more than a job, it's an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy. You'll work on a high-impact programme, enjoy a collaborative and forward-thinking team, and take your technical leadership to the next level.

It isn't the highest paying but it will deliver genuinely interesting, challenging and rewarding work whilst still paying ok!

You will also join a company with a culture of flexibility, continuous improvement and growth.
