Job Title: SeniorData Analyst & Developer

Department: Digital Solutions

Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Monday-Friday

Location: 230 Centennial Park, Centennial Avenue, Elstree, WD6 3SN

Reports to: Head of Digital Solutions

Scope: 

The Senior Data Analyst and Developer leads the development and maintenance of a pool of software tools and workflows aimed at transforming raw acquired data into actionable information used in optimising industrial processes. Tasks also include the application of signal processing techniques and leading research for improved data analysis workflow developments, internal and customer data analysis, presentations of results internally and externally, standardising and communicating the expectations of the Data Services team within the company and managing the onboarding process for new Data Services members.

Key Accountabilities:

Customer and lab-based data analysis and reporting:

Data analysis following known workflows Tailored data analysis solutions for complex cases Data presentation in meetings and reporting to project teams and management

Algorithm development and implementation into Rapid application tools for other data analysts to use

Improve and maintain available data processing software algorithms and tools in Matlab and/or Python Develop and test new algorithms in line with new solutions or product developments  Implement algorithms into software tools transferable to other data analysts Ensure software development adheres to robust software engineering practices Develop/improve data analysis processes, including evaluating alternative software solutions Train field/data analysts across the company Advising, recommending and problem solving Liaising with the Edge team on software integration 

 Communicating Data Services’ expectations and standards with all business units:

To act as Data Services’ liaison with all business units Communicating the Team's capabilities and workflows, and setting the expectations of jobs Setting out new or customised workflows for specialised job types 

Standardising practices in the Data Services team and managing Data Services training processes:

Setting standard practices and infrastructure for use by the team Ensuring all team members are familiar with workflows and best practices Standardising the onboarding process for new Data Services members Acting as a point of contact for team members undergoing training

 Job requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

PhD in Physics, Engineering or an Electronic-engineering related domain Acoustics background 3 to 4 years of experience in distributed sensing solutions and/or software development Data analysis and interpretation of complex datasets Matlab, Python, C++, Rapid Application development skills (GUI writing) Signal processing, image processing, including array processing Analytical and Problem solving Strong attention to detail  Ability to work with diverse, multi-discipline work groups
