Core to Back Market's Circular mission is its Trade-in service. It enables customers to sell their used tech devices for cash to Back Market's network of refurbishers (the sellers), fueling the circular economy by easing the sourcing of tech devices while providing a customer-centric solution preventing the accumulation of e-waste in our landfills (or drawers).
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be guiding senior stakeholders and the wider Data Analytics & Insight team to better understand the drivers of our trade-in service, those of our competitors & enable the best decision-making to reach our goals. Specifically, you will explore, analyze and recommend new and innovative approaches for improving our trade-in value proposition and delivering optimal pricing and experience for both sellers and customers across our marketplace.
YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT):

Conduct research and analysis within our circularity services (Trade-In, Recycling), to tackle operations challenges and identify opportunity areas where Back Market can provide incremental value to sellers and customers
Model and forecast seller and customer behavior to optimize Long Term Value for the company
Analyze and model the optimal pricing strategies which sellers and Back Market can participate in to deliver growth in trade-in device volumes , profitability (for both sellers and Back Market) and customer satisfaction
Explore and recommend new approaches for understanding used device flows, opportunities to continue to grow the circular market and win over new customers and sellers
Be an active contributor to circularity strategy, by thinking beyond immediate analysis to understand the long-term implications of actions and leverage opportunities beyond Circularity scope (supply creation, customer acquisition, etc.)
Collaborate closely with business & top management : supporting their needs, providing tools to ease access to insights, easing performance monitoring, sharing your analysis & recommendations in an impactful way to get their buy-in
YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF:

You have 5+ years of relevant industry experience (ecommerce, retail, marketplace…)
You possess a good balance of statistical/technical skills, business acumen, and communication skills
You have experience partnering with internal teams and senior decision makers to drive decision and action, leveraging data insights. You act as an expert and provide direction on analytics
You have excellent knowledge of SQL but Python or another coding language is a plus
