Senior Data Analyst – Real-World Evidence (RWE)

Location: UK - home based


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our client's Real-World Evidence (RWE) team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in manipulating large healthcare databases to generate insights that support research, healthcare decision-making, and strategic initiatives.


This position requires strong expertise in SAS or R programming and hands-on experience working with large healthcare datasets such as CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink), Marketscan, or similar.


Key Responsibilities

  • Programming large RWE/healthcare databases (e.g., CPRD, Marketscan).
  • Develop and maintain analytical code in SAS and/or R to support epidemiological and health outcomes research projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including epidemiologists, statisticians, and medical experts.
  • Clean, transform, and validate healthcare data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Interpret results and present findings in a clear and impactful manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health, or related field. A PhD is an advantage but not required.
  • Proven hands-on experience analyzing large healthcare databases (CPRD, Marketscan, or equivalent).
  • Strong programming skills in SAS and/or R.
  • Solid understanding of RWE methodologies, epidemiology, or health outcomes research.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Background

  • Candidates with experience from academic or public research institutions are encouraged to apply, provided they have worked extensively with large-scale healthcare databases.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO environment is a plus, but not mandatory.
