About the Role

Billing Finance are growing, and we're very happy to be now embarking upon a period of transformation. As a result, we're forming a team to help us do this and we're now looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join us.

You’ll play a crucial role in driving our data analytics capabilities and providing actionable insights to guide strategic decisions and operational processes. You'll work autonomously to analyse complex datasets, create sophisticated data models, and develop comprehensive insights in solutions such as Power BI, that not only report on but also actively shape our operational workflows.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the data analysis function within our growing company and contribute significantly to our data-driven strategy in the motor finance sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning and shaping the Data Analytics capabilities for Billing Finance including tooling selection, defining processes and ownership of reporting
  • Liaising with the Senior Leadership Team and Management Team to collate, assure and publish standard reporting and ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Delivering proficient analytics and insights to different parts of the business
  • Choosing the right solution for the problem from your arsenal of analytical tools and methods
  • Working closely with all Billing Finance teams to understand their data and their goals to deliver effective solutions
  • Presenting and promoting your work to the wider business, to enable data-informed choices
  • Maintaining dashboards (within tools such as Power BI) and delivering people data to stakeholders across the business
  • Unlocking business potential by analysing all available data to identify trends and opportunities utilising relevant statistical methods
  • Adopting a never stop learning attitude and empowering and developing others with changes in reporting technology and market trends

Eligibility Criteria

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience and Skills

  • Strong technical skills including SQL, Python/R, and data visualisation tools. We are open to exploring and incorporating other relevant tools and technologies as needed
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical audiences
  • An entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset, eager to learn and make an impact
  • Curious mindset and approach data as an opportunity for actionable insights
  • Skilled at translating findings into clear recommendations by identifying root causes
  • Experience in developing measurement frameworks to quantify business impacts
  • Collaborative team player able to work cross-functionally with global teams
  • Balance of detail-orientation and strategic big-picture thinking
  • Prior experience in product analytics, A/B testing, or metrics analysis (preferred)
  • Eagerness to learn and make an impact in a dynamic startup environment

Billing Finance is a family-owned vehicle financing Company based on the outskirts of Northampton. We focus on customers with non-standard credit profiles that may not fit the automated underwriting processes of other lenders. The Recruitment Process and How We Will Use Your Data

The recruitment process will involve obtaining information and/or exchanging it with the following organisations to assist with our pre-employment checks prior to interview.

  • Credit Reference Agencies – to complete a soft credit check to understand your financial history
  • CIFAS – to check both National and Internal databases for fraudulent activity. The personal information we have collected from you will be shared with Cifas who will use it to prevent fraud, other unlawful or dishonest conduct, malpractice, and other seriously improper conduct. If any of these are detected, you could be refused certain services or employment. Your personal information will also be used to verify your identity. To complete these checks, you will be asked to provide your address history for the past six years, along with your full name and date of birth.
