Aboutthe Role

We are looking for acollaborative Senior Data Analyst to join us in helping make a realimprovement to the way HM Treasury operates; working with data todeliver tangible insight and benefit to our users. You will beresponsible for defining and initiating a programme of work thatgets the most out of our data holdings and ensures that the data wehold is put to more effective use.


Keyaccountabilities

  1. Lead acomprehensive data landscaping exercise to identify and map ourdata holdings, agreeing the data landscape with stakeholders anddelivering a mutually agreed data map and commonalities across datasources.
  2. Work with relevant stakeholders todrive value from the landscaping exercise, developing pipelinesfor
  3. Provide data analysis expertisethrough:
  • Seeingopportunities to improve business practices and solve businessproblems using data tools andanalysis.
  • Delivering better insight from ourdata by optimising data collection, creating and improving datavisualisations and reports, and crafting narratives withdata.
  • Using your business insight andcommunication skills to collaborate and build relationships,successfully turning complex information into impactfulinsight.
  • Reviewing and discussing options,providing realistic delivery estimates. Challenge and refinerequirements so that proposed solutions are fit-for-purpose, robustimplementations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues tokeep them informed of progress and potential issues as theyarise.

4. Maintain and improve TBS’sdata models, using data from different sources to producevisualisations to inform IT service improvements and future techstrategies.

Aboutyou

Our successful candidate willhold a recognised certification or qualification in statistics ordata analysis. In addition, you’ll have an understanding of, andexperience using, data modelling tools and techniques, and theability to apply this knowledge when developing targeted solutionsto deliver business benefit and make effective decisions. You’lluse this to define and initiate your data analytics work. Lastly,you’ll have strong communication and networking skills, able tobuild positive working relationships with a wide range ofpeople.
