We are seeking a skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team and contribute to the creation of a large-scale, multi-tenanted data solution. As a Senior BI Analyst, you will be responsible for understanding customer needs and translating them into actionable insights through Power BI reports and dashboards. This role involves gathering business requirements, analysing data, and providing reports that help guide key business decisions.

We’re looking for someone with strong commercial awareness, able to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and deliver insights that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer value. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of data, technology, and business strategy


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage regularly with customers to understand their changing goals and ensure reporting solutions remain relevant and aligned.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and define KPIs, translating them into practical reporting solutions.
  • Advise stakeholders on effective data visualisation techniques to maximise the impact and clarity of reports.
  • Design and build custom Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Create visually engaging, intuitive dashboards that simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights for users at all levels.
  • Analyse customer data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that support strategic decision-making.
  • Translate complex data into accessible, meaningful insights that inform non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work closely with BI Developers, data engineers, and architects to ensure robust, scalable data models and efficient reporting infrastructure.
  • Uphold data quality by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with governance standards across all reports.
  • Regularly update and enhance existing reports based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Continuously refine and optimise dashboards for performance, scalability, and a smooth user experience.
  • Provide hands-on support to customers, helping them interpret and use dashboards effectively to drive value.
  • Confidently demonstrate reporting capabilities to prospective customers, showcasing value and usability.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, tools, and best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working with the wider BI team to elevate the overall reporting experience for customers.

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Senior level expertise in Power BI, including visualisations, report design, and dashboard development.
  • Ability to create compelling and visually intuitive reports and dashboards tailored to customer needs.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, KPIs, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment, preferably with a focus on delivering managed reporting services to clients.
  • Experience with data analysis, identifying key trends, patterns, and growth opportunities.
  • Experience in SQL or other query languages for extracting and working with data.
  • Previous experience working with large datasets or in industries where data-driven decision-making is crucial (e.g., finance, marketing, retail).
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex data in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes for data integration into Power BI.
  • Experience with Power BI Embedded or other embedded analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS or Databricks
