TheArchitecture Servicesdepartment is made up of two technical areas: Solutions and Vendor based presales. The Solutions Architects focus on complex architecture with knowledge ranging more broadly across multiple disciplines, whilst Vendor Architects specialise on providing SME expertise within their respective vendors.

As a Solutions Architect focused on Microsoft Azure, you'll be part of the Architecture Services department and expected to work in a collaborative manner with individuals and teams across the organisation. In this role you'll be the first port of call for enabling customers to execute upon their cloud strategy for Microsoft Azure.

 

As Solutions Architect - Azure Data Platforms, you'll be responsible for: 

  • Continually demonstrate the skills and abilities of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Azure principles, including the pillars of Well-Architected and the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure.
  • Demonstrate and continually develop skills, expertise, and knowledge in the design of hybrid and cloud-based solutions and architectures.
  • Demonstrate and continually develop skills and knowledge in Azure Data Platform Services at least three or more of the following: Azure SQL Database and other Data Sources, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Analytics, Power BI.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a view to further developing this as a key skill for customer engagement.
  • Take responsibility for producing high quality design documentation (Technical Proposals, High Level Designs, diagrams, Statements of Work etc.) when required within a given project or customer engagement.
  • Be responsible for working with the Public Cloud Professional Services and other teams, providing a bridge between Design, Deployment and Support.

 

We'd love you to have

  • You should have already achieved the Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Associate and Expert certifications; additional Azure related certifications are also very beneficial.
  • You should be able to demonstrate awareness of on-premises infrastructure technologies and how they map to Azure or other cloud services to enable smooth transitions for customers who are migrating to the cloud.
  • You should be aware of the principles of the R's approach when assessing cloud adoption and transformation of customer workloads.
  • Awareness of Serverless technologies and how developers can use these to build scalable and robust services and applications.
  • As an Azure Solutions Architect you will strive to maintain awareness of newly released services and improved capabilities on the Azure platform
