Senior Geophysicist

Overview

We are a globally recognized geophysics services and technology solutions provider, renowned for delivering innovative and agile geophysical solutions. With a presence spanning diverse regions, our multi-cultural team of over 30 professionals operates across dynamic energy markets. We specialize in seismic survey design, seismic data imaging and analysis, seismic data processing, QA/QC, in-field monitoring, geophysics R&D, and bespoke training. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.

This role allows for flexible remote working, but candidates must be based in the South East of the UK. Occasional visits to our office in Woking are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Process and analyze complex geophysical data with a focus on seismic imaging and velocity model building, including Full Waveform Inversion (FWI).
Ensure strict adherence to QA/QC standards throughout all stages of data processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, R&D, and Management, to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Design and implement innovative geophysical solutions to address client challenges in the energy sector.
Contribute to the development of new methodologies and tools to enhance geophysical data processing capabilities.

Qualifications

Essential: Proficiency in geophysical data processing, velocity model building (including FWI), and seismic imaging.
Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with Dug Insight and/or Shearwater Reveal is mandatory.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a high level of English proficiency.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative mindset.
Preferred: Experience with both onshore and offshore seismic projects, with a focus on marine processing.
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Geophysics, Geology, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Day-to-Day

Process seismic data using advanced software tools to deliver high-quality results.
Collaborate with team members and clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Conduct rigorous QA/QC checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Mentor junior geophysicists, providing guidance and support on technical challenges.
Participate in R&D initiatives to develop innovative geophysical methodologies.
Communicate findings and project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
