Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility assessments and validate the suitability of cutting-edge technologies, such as machine learning, big data analytics, generative AI, multi-agent systems, and quantum computing, within the insurance and risk consulting domain.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify social and business challenges in the industry and develop innovative solutions that leverage the identified technologies.

  • Analyze complex data sets and provide insights to support strategic decision-making processes for clients in the insurance sector.

  • Design and implement proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the potential value and practical implementation of the identified technologies.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and emerging trends in technology, specifically related to the insurance industry, and provide recommendations on their potential impact on our services.

  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposals, showcasing the benefits and capabilities of our technology solutions.

    Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

    Essential

  • You have experience with some modelling paradigms and techniques such as active learning, transfer learning, agent-based modelling, optimisation, Bayesian inference, entity extraction/resolution, spatio-temporal modelling.

  • Enjoy developing models from first principles and are unbiased in your choice of modelling techniques.

  • Experience across some of the lifecycle of a model including requirements gathering, converting these into actionable tasks, model implementation, validation and deployment.

  • Ability to conduct research, produce conceptual models, develop prototypes and mentor others in the process.

  • Experience communicating complex modelling concepts to a range of audiences both technical and non-technical.

  • Experience assuming a technical leadership role on projects.

  • You have a good first degree in a STEM subject with a significant mathematical component. A PhD is not required but is an advantage.

  • Programming skills in Python.

  • Experience handling large datasets, suitable software techniques and hardware requirements.

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

  • Other programming languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript).

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas at varying levels of depth according to audience

    Desirable

  • Initiating projects from scratch including the consideration of business model.

  • Deep knowledge for insurance industry.

  • Strong interest for global business, especially in Japan.
