About the role

The post holder will undertake quantitative research using large-scale population datasets. They will plan and execute analyses, lead interpretation, and communicate results to public health, educational, and clinical audiences. The appointment details are as follows:

The role is graded on the non-clinical research staff Pay Scale Grade 7 or 8, with an annual salary ranging from £44,000 to £51,000 for Grade 7, and £54,000 to £63,000 for Grade 8 (including London Allowance).

The position is available immediately and funded for two years initially.

Research Fellows - Grade 7 appointment requires a PhD. Without a PhD, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (£38,000 - £41,000), with backdated payment to Grade 7 upon PhD completion.

Senior Research Fellows - Grade 8 appointment depends on meeting the specified criteria.

About you
You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline such as epidemiology, genetics, psychology, medical statistics, data science, or similar. You should be interested in applying complex statistical and computational models to large datasets, comfortable with statistical software, and experienced in running applications on large computer clusters and coding in bash.
