Pricing and Underwriting is a complex field where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models intersect. Our Pricers and Underwriters are crucial in balancing business goals with customer needs, reducing risk, and predicting future events to ensure sustained growth and optimal pricing for consumers.

Join us as a Senior R&D Data Scientist in our Motor Retail Pricing team.
What you'll be doing:

In this role, you'll apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and model insurance data. You'll develop pricing models that accurately reflect risk and customer behavior, collaborate with actuaries, underwriters, and data scientists on R&D projects, and explore new data science applications within insurance. You'll also mentor colleagues, share your expertise, and influence our strategies to make a positive impact on our customers.

Our hybrid working model combines in-office and remote work, with colleagues spending at least 2 days a week in the office, depending on their role and team.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 3+ years of data science or pricing experience within insurance
  • Strong statistical and machine learning skills
  • Experience with insurance pricing or actuarial modeling
  • Proficiency in Python (experience with other programming languages is a plus)
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Domino is advantageous
  • A curious, innovative mindset and the ability to incorporate stakeholder feedback
