Point72 Asset Management is seeking a mid-level Quantitative Risk Analyst to join its Risk & Quantitative Research team.

The RQR team plays a vital role in the Firm’s investment process, building a culture of efficient risk management and performance attribution. Quantitative Risk Analysts research to identify opportunities for improved risk management, investment behavior, and portfolio construction, aiming to help the firm deliver superior risk-adjusted performance. The team's main goal is to protect the Firm from improper exposure levels and ensure risk-taking is deliberate and efficient.

The ideal candidate is an intelligent and creative problem solver who can articulate ideas effectively to a diverse audience in a fast-paced environment. Experience in quantitative investment research is a plus, especially with a focus on rates.

The Quantitative Risk Analyst will:

  • Analyze portfolios and strategies to identify risk and performance drivers; expand risk infrastructure for better risk management and understanding of portfolio construction.
  • Collaborate with senior risk managers, portfolio managers, and research analysts on risk limits, portfolio construction, tail exposure, and risk events; handle ad hoc inquiries from management and team members.
  • Improve stress testing, Value at Risk, and limit frameworks for macro portfolios.
  • Develop innovative risk management tools and analytics, and present findings to senior management.
  • Partner with technology teams to implement prototypes into production and enhance them; collaborate with strategists and valuation teams to ensure high-quality models.

We seek candidates with:

  • A degree (master’s preferred) in quantitative finance, statistics, math, engineering, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative research, trading, or risk management related to rates, with solid knowledge of pricing models, risk sensitivities, and risk aggregation.
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R; experience with large data sets.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with portfolio managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude to seek new ideas and solutions.
  • Strong work ethics—reliable and accountable.
  • Ability to work well with all staff levels as part of a team.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity.
