YOUR IMPACT

The GSET Platform team builds the core frameworks, services, and components of our flagship electronic trading platform, supporting client needs with everything from position management and resource distribution through to client workflow, controls, and reference data. Our low‑latency platform is built with speed, reliability and resiliency in mind where every micro‑second counts and uptime is critical. We work directly with our product development function to build new functionality for clients, adapt the platform to meet regulatory and industry changes, and expand into new markets.


As a member of the team, you will play an integral role on the trading floor. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for technology and the markets, with individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment. The team takes a data‑driven approach to decision‑making and you should be willing to participate in the full product lifecycle from requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, support, and monitoring.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build and maintain high‑performance, high‑availability, high‑capacity, yet nimble and adaptive platforms satisfying a range of business needs.
  • Work in partnership with the wider engineering & product teams to design and implement best‑in‑class solutions.
  • Work closely with our counterpart teams globally to ensure we’re building features and systems that can be reused and leveraging work and experience from other regions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong Java programming skills in a real‑time low‑latency / zero‑GC environment.
  • High desire to produce organised, readable, and maintainable software.
  • Proven problem‑solving ability with critical and creative thinking.
  • Effective communicator in both written and verbal mediums.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working on an electronic trading platform, including reference data, market data & FIX.
  • Ability to balance multiple, time‑sensitive projects while maintaining a longer‑term, strategic focus.
  • Knowledge of Spring, Kafka, Python, SQL and/or Linux would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience of a sequencer/event‑based architecture, and/or Zero‑GC Java.
