Job Description

Operations Quant, Macro Fixed Income Hedge Fund, London [On-Site]

We are working with a Macro Fixed Income Hedge Fund in London that are looking to hire a Quant Analyst to undertake a range of activities focused on supporting the front office directly. The fund is a high performing group that enjoys a strong track record and low staff turnover. The fund takes a collaborative, research/analysis driven approach across the investment process making this a significant and highly prominent role for their growth and success. Their focus can be described as bottom-up macro, predominantly concentrated on interest rate markets as well as FX and Commodities.

As part of their growth, they are seeking a Quant Analyst to join their Operations Team and will be tasked with improving the operations processes (which are largely a mixture of manual processes, VBA spreadsheets, etc.).

You will also be assigned a wide array of strategic, greenfield projects as well as ad hoc activities from desk heads as well as developing solutions that improve speed, efficiency, and automation. You will be working with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the business. This role is data- intensive and highly lean team. It will demonstrate an exciting and dynamic environment that requires adaptability, pragmatism, and pronounced autonomy.

The ideal candidate will have pre-existing experience working within quant analytics, ideally with macro/rates product exposure. This candidate will have 2+ years of experience from either a tier 1 bank or already on the buy side. As you will be working with (and closely) to quants, traders and PMs, clear communication skills are crucial as you will be working with market driven individuals daily.

In terms of characteristics the fund hires are high performing self-starters with low ego and the ability to be pragmatic in their approach to work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful and collegiate fund with a progressive and positive working culture. The role will be part of one of the very best macro fixed income teams on the street in a role with significant involvement in building out the spine of the business from the ground up.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a quant at a tier 1 bank or hedge fund.
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in a quantitative field
  • Strong understanding of financial products and markets, ideally rates
  • Good knowledge of Excel & VBA
  • Good Python skills (Pandas, Numpy, Scripy, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SQL

Due to demand, we are advertising this role anonymously. If you would prefer to speak to someone before submitting a CV, please send a blank application to the role and someone will be in touch to discuss.

We can only respond to highly qualified candidates.
