Job Description

What is the opportunity?In this role you will support the activities around quantitative and data science spectrum, within RBC BlueBay.What will you do?Design and maintain front office tools. These are in the form of dashboards or apps that show visualisations and quantitative analysis. Understand the Quant data infrastructure and how this fits into the firmwide infrastructure. This will include maintaining database queries and stored procedures and managing a move to the cloud. This work will be done in consultation with IT so it will be important to manage relationships with this team. Be the first point of contact between the Quant team and IT infrastructure, IT front office developers and data team. Conduct research on new data sources, statistical methods and AI technologies to enhance our offering to the front office. Initially there will be less focus on the quantitative research aspect of the role but this will grow over time. A very important responsibility is to build relationships the front office. They are the end clients of all the work we do so it is vital that the Quant team can approach them with ideas and that they are comfortable with the quality of our analyses.What do you need to succeed?Must-Have:Proficiency in R/Python/Matlab programming. Strong numerical skillsNice to have:Experience with SQL or other database management system. Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
