In a Nutshell:

We are seeking a Product Data Compliance Technologist who will -

Quality Assurance and Compliance:Ensure product compliance with technical standards and industry legislation through regular audits, data analysis, dimensional checking, and keeping up with regulatory developments.

Technical Expertise and Support: Provide technical expertise as the primary contact for internal and external functions, advise on quality data requirements, and use statistical methods for problem-solving.

Process Improvement and Customer Experience: Design and implement processes to enhance customer experience, reduce call volumes, and drive interdepartmental cooperation for continuous product quality improvement.

Reporting and Communication: Report on product quality and compliance KPIs, maintain certification, and foster effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers.

Assist with local and international Regulatory Submissions including but not limited to:

oEPR

oWEEE

oBattery Directive

oPlastic Packaging Tax

Data entry and maintenance of Product Information Management systems

Data collection and verifications

Key Responsibilities of the role:

DELIVERY

  • Adhering to industry legislation in accordance with the LIA Code of Practice and our Quality Manual. I conduct the annual LIA Audit to ensure we maintain our accreditation membership.
  • Fostering interdepartmental cooperation to enhance the customer experience. Utilize KPIs to identify quality trends and drive the availability of technical data via our website.
  • Maintaining full certification and compliance for our entire product portfolio
  • Implement set improvement plans to achieve these goals.
  • Improving product quality through rigorous auditing, compliance measures, and analysis of internal data.

QUALITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Ensuring compliance with established Technical Standards.
  • Keeping Technical Files accurate and up to date.
  • Collation of compliance documentation for CE and UKCA marking directives and third-party product accreditations.
  • Regularly reporting performance to suppliers.
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory developments within and outside the business and evolving best practices in quality control.
  • Advising internal departments on product quality and quality data requirements and driving their completion.

COST

  • Reporting weekly and monthly KPIs on product quality.
  • Providing weekly and monthly cross-functional data reports.
  • Submitting reports to various regulatory bodies and schemes.
  • Managing the online PIM system and reporting completion KPIs monthly.

SAFETY

  • Contribution to the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Ensure adherence of Audit team to Health and Safety Regulations through training, communication, risk assessments and audits

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels, ensuring regular communication with Internal Managers and other support functions.
  • Compliance – daily formal and informal contact.
  • Other Company employees – regular contact with other departments regarding compliance & data requirements.

Are you right for us?

Our Product Data Compliance Technologist will have/be:

Essentials

  • Good level of general and further education.
  • Experience of working with a high-volume manufacturing area with complex products.
  • Experience of working within a large organisation.
  • Experience of working with Product Information Management systems.
  • Able to demonstrate personal success in the achievement of continuous part or process improvement activities against a clear set of objectives.
  • Experience of working to UK and EU compliance directives including UKCA, CE and GSPR.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO9001-2015
  • Ability to conduct and audit to both ISO9001&14001 Management systems.
  • Highly computer-literate, being fully conversant with MS Excel is a pre-requisite.
  • Competent with both MS Word and Power Point.
  • Able to use statistical methods to analyse and solve problems.
  • Data and Statistical Analysis.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Able to gain respect of others and their ‘buy in’
  • Able to operate confidently and communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in a written form.
  • Professional in approach, and able to lead by example, acting with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, able to work cross-functionally.
  • Committed to learning and self-development.

Desirables

  • Experience of working with electrical products – preferably lighting products both retail and commercial.
  • Experience of working with external suppliers in the formulation of action plans/containment plans for Problem Resolution.
  • Experience using project management solutions.
  • Experience cross departmental in process development and project management.
  • Experience Testing Products to determine root cause of failure and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems ISO14001-2015
  • Quality/Environmental Auditing experience
  • Competent in the use of Corrective Action Resolution (8D or other similar system)
  • Able to use Advance Quality Planning techniques, e.g. Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans)
  • Product / quality focus
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • Analytical understanding in complexities of procedures and regulations
