The Opportunity

:

Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking aPrincipal Statistician/Statistics Team Leadto join our Clinical Statistics team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled statistician with a passion for leadership and innovation to contribute to the development of cutting-edge glucose monitoring technologies.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory to support data-driven decision-making that enhances patient outcomes. You’ll be part of a dynamic and inclusive team of Statisticians and SAS Programmers, working on diverse projects and engaging with a global network of statistical professionals dedicated to continuous learning and excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of statisticians, fostering talent development and knowledge sharing.

Provide statistical expertise across the Abbott Diabetes Care product range.

Support the transfer of products and processes from R&D into Manufacturing for new product launches.

Analyze manufacturing, stability, and product performance data to drive continuous improvement.

Design and support development trials and analytical test methods, using statistical insights to inform quality and business decisions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate statistical concepts and influence decision-making.

Education and Experience:

A BSc or higher degree in Statistics or Mathematics is required.

Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

Proficiency in SAS and/or R programming is advantageous.

Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of explaining complex statistical ideas to non-specialists.
