Job Title: Principal Or Senior Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer

Location: Ivybridge, Devon

Salary: Principal: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum

Senior: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent with an initial six-month probation period

Working hours: 37.5 hours/week - Monday to Friday (part time also considered)

We seek a Principal or Senior Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our friendly team based in Ivybridge, Devon, working on a diverse range of exciting and complex Geotechnical and Contaminated Land projects across the beautiful Southwest region.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for technical leadership, project delivery, and supporting junior team members in a range of geotechnical and environmental services, including:

Planning, procuring, and managing ground investigations, including trial pits, boreholes, windowless sampling and in-situ testing
Design and interpretation of geotechnical investigations to support structural and civil design
Logging to BS5930 and sampling of soils, rocks, and groundwater
Design and interpretation of contaminated land assessments and investigations, (Phase I to Phase IV) in line with current regulations and best practice
Development of conceptual site models and quantitative risk assessments
Environmental services including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), Materials Management Plans (MMPs), Earthworks specifications and waste classification/management
Ground gas and groundwater monitoring and interpretation
Preparing and reviewing high-quality technical reports
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with current H&S / CDM regulations and environmental permitting requirements
Liaising with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes
Supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration with our civil and structural teams on integrated schemes.About You:

Requirements:

Educated to degree level in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferably have chartered status with an accredited body (not essential where candidates exhibit sufficient experience).
Have a minimum 3-5 years' relevant experience in a Geotechnical or Geo environmental environment (less experience may be considered for the right candidate).
Demonstrable experience managing site works and technical reporting.
Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and environmental legislation.
Be capable of working individually or as part of a wider team as lead engineer or assisting others.
Be conscientious with high standards, attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.
Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
Keep up with industry innovations, undertake CPD to maintain a good knowledge of current construction & engineering practice.
Have a full driving licence.Beneficial but not essential:

Working knowledge of Holebase, AutoCAD, and GIS mapping software (QGIS or Arc GIS).
Hold a current CSCS card.What we offer:
