Grade A -£52,737 - £66,197 (National Framework) or £58,409- £71,869 (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) plus an additional allowance (paid as a separate amount to salary) of up to £5000 for exceptional candidates. There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home.

This role is responsible for leading a team of Data Scientists to develop Machine Learning and AI models to support the CQC’s roles as the regulator of Health and Social Care. You will manage 7 Data Scientists, supporting their development, assuring their output and ensuring that the team meets the most pressing needs of the business.

Working alongside the Practice Lead for Data Science and AI, you will promote excellence and innovation in data science methods for measuring the quality of health and social care services, manage and drive the backlog of opportunities, and support the continued development of our Data Science and AI capability.

What you will bring…

You will join us with previous experience of delivering complex, advanced Data Science and/or Generative AI solutions, have an expert working knowledge of a range of cloud based data science tools, such as Azure Machine Learning and Databricks, as well as substantial experience programming in Python and R.

Along with an in-depth understanding of a wide range of data science techniques, such as machine learning and natural language processing, and able to apply them to a variety of analytic problems.

You will also be a strong people manager, having the ability to support and grow talent, enabling the successful delivery of work in a manner that promotes positive culture.
