A bit about the role...

As a Principal Analytics Consultant at Snap, you’ll be at the forefront of our most strategic initiatives. Your role will involve leading client engagements, managing large-scale projects, and shaping Snap’s approach to modern cloud data platforms.

You’ll also contribute as a thought leader, developing insights and sharing expertise internally and externally while mentoring others and driving innovation across the organisation.

Here's a breakdown of what you’ll be doing…

Strategic Growth & Leadership
  • You’ll drive the process from opportunity identification to solution design, Statement of Work (SoW) creation, and contract closure.

  • You’ll manage the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • You’ll take a commercial focus, growing existing accounts and identifying new opportunities, with a revenue target associated.

  • You’ll build relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, to develop trust and identify avenues for value delivery.

  • You’ll position yourself as a thought leader by authoring blogs, presenting at webinars, and engaging in external speaking opportunities.

Technical Delivery Excellence
  • You’ll design and optimise cloud-based data architectures (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse) to support advanced analytics.

  • You’ll build and automate scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines handling diverse data sources.

  • You’ll work closely with our clients to design the correct data models to support their analytic requirements following best practices such as Kimball star schemas and snowflake schemas, ensuring performance and ease of use for the client.

  • You’ll manage the delivery of ETL/ELT processes using tools like Matillion, Informatica, or Talend, adhering to data engineering best practices and incorporating things such as metadata driven ETL approaches and near real-time data platform architectures.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • You’ll stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends, leveraging insights to shape innovative solutions and strengthen Snap’s offerings.

  • You’ll understand the competitive landscape and articulate Snap’s key selling points to clients and prospects.

Mentorship & Organisational Development
  • You’ll contribute to the development of Snap as an organisation by initiating and managing internal projects or products that enhance capabilities.

  • You’ll mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.


What you'll need to succeed...

Experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience working on data and analytics projects, with expertise in data migration, integration, and cloud-based data warehousing for enterprise organisations.

  • Proven experience designing data architectures on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Technical Skills
  • Extensive experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g. Matillion, Informatica, Talend) and cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).

  • Expertise in data modelling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) and optimising models for analytics and reporting.

  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.

Leadership & Commercial Focus
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a focus on building trust and identifying client needs.

  • Proven ability to grow accounts, identify new opportunities, and achieve revenue targets.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to solving complex data challenges.
