Post-doctoral Fellow – Cliometrics and Quantitative Economic History – School of Economics at UNSW. The role involves carrying out independent and/or team research, developing research expertise, and contributing to the research project in the field of cliometrics and quantitative economic history.


Responsibilities

  • Engage in individual and/or collaborative research in a manner consistent with disciplinary practice.
  • Create scholarly impact in the discipline recognized by peers in the advancement of disciplinary knowledge.
  • Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision, either independently or as a member of a team.
  • Establish a personal research portfolio and begin developing independent research proposals.
  • Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Skills and Experience

  • Fluency in French and German
  • Significant experience in collection and digitization of original archives
  • Proficiency in R, Python, Stata
  • A PhD in Economics
  • Proactive commitment to staying up to date with disciplinary knowledge and developments
  • Demonstrated track record in high-quality and high-impact research with the ability to pursue research excellence and leadership
  • Track record of involvement with the profession and/or industry
  • High-level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Fixed term full time until March 2027
  • Remuneration: Level B from $127,947 (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Location: Kensington NSW
