Portfolio Payroll is collaborating with a well-established organisation in the manufacturing sector to recruit a Payroll Team leader on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team lead to join a respected organisation who is rewarding and supportive.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the team delivers accurate and timely payroll services in line with statutory requirements and internal Equans procedures.
Oversee audit processes for the payroll function, ensuring all checks and sign-offs are completed on schedule each month.
Lead on payroll process reviews and improvements, working with the Payroll Manager and HR Operations to identify and implement more efficient ways of working.
Keep process documentation and standard operating procedures up to date, ensuring they reflect current practices and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to the payroll team, driving high performance against KPIs and service level expectations.
Mentor team members by offering regular feedback, identifying development areas, and stepping in with hands-on support when needed.
Plan and organise team workflows throughout the year, ensuring resources are aligned to peak periods and business demands.
Build strong working relationships across the Shared Services and Leadership teams to support seamless end-to-end service delivery.
Collaborate with SAP technical teams to support system changes, validate data integrity, and ensure payroll configuration meets operational needs.
Step in for the Payroll Manager when necessary, ensuring continuity of leadership and service delivery.

Desirable skills and attributes:

Previous experience in leading and developing a team
Strong understanding of pension regulations and reporting requirements
Strong understanding of GDPR
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Able to work independently and collaboratively
