Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for a part-time opportunity in a collaborative and supportive team? Our client is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their friendly finance department on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a strong eye for detail when it comes to payroll processing and compliance.

đź§ľ Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll for multiple entities
Ensure accurate calculation of pay, overtime, bonuses, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and deductions
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll systems
Reconcile payroll reports and liaise with HR and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
Support year-end processes including P60s, P11Ds, and PAYE reconciliations
Manage employee queries related to payroll and provide clear and timely responses
Ensure all payroll procedures comply with HMRC regulations and internal policiesâś… Requirements:

Previous experience in a payroll processing role (in-house or bureau environment)
Knowledge of UK payroll legislation including tax codes, NI, pensions, and statutory payments
Familiarity with auto-enrolment and pension submissions
Proficient in using payroll software (e.g. Sage Payroll, BrightPay, or similar) and Excel
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Flexible part-time working hours (20 hours per week - options to spread across 3-5 days)
