We are currently seeking a highly skilled Oracle Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at a client located in Edinburgh. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining robust data solutions within our banking and lending frameworks, utilizing Oracle as the primary technology. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Oracle PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and have the capability to design solutions that meet business requirements. Experience in Snowflake or other Data Engineering platforms as a secondary skill set is also highly desirable.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data solutions using Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning of databases to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data solutions based on detailed requirements and discussions.
  • Utilize Snowflake or other relevant Data Engineering technologies to enhance data processing and storage capabilities.
  • Participate in Agile project methodologies, contributing to software development and web application projects.
  • Ensure compliance with data standards and best practices within the banking and lending sectors.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Work from the client Edinburgh office, with flexibility to adapt to dynamic project needs.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL development with strong hands-on experience.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake or other Data Engineering technologies.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective data solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development and web application environments.
