Sustainability Consultant - Net Zero Carbon (2-Month FTC)
City of London
Up to £50k pro rata

A leading sustainability and environmental consultancy is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join their ESG & Net Zero team on a short-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an industry-first pilot on Net Zero Carbon Standards, aimed at defining how the UK can achieve net-zero buildings through a whole-life carbon approach that addresses both operational and embodied carbon.

The Role
You'll split your time between:

  • Data analytics - analysing over 40,000 data points to shape net-zero strategies and reporting
  • Net Zero Carbon Audits - evaluating asset-level performance and identifying pathways to reduce carbon emissions

    You'll be part of a collaborative team working on projects that deliver real-world impact across real estate, development, and investment.

    About You
  • Degree in engineering or architecture (essential)
  • Ideally 2-3 years' experience working on operational energy and embodied carbon assessments
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate findings effectively
  • Familiarity with Net Zero frameworks, whole-life carbon thinking, and UK sustainability standards
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and good communication skills
