This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will design, develop, and optimize solutions to tackle challenging technical obstacles, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable, efficient data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Integrate data from various platforms and systems, including on-prem and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
- Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices.
- Prepare and present technical reports and specifications to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
- Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
- Managing distributed systems like SLURM, LSF.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration.

- Master’s degree in relevant fields.
- Experience in motorsports industry.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, security practices.
- Experience with HPC architecture and instrumentation systems.
