Head of Data Engineering

What Youll Be Doing:

• Conduct a comprehensive data engineering health check to identify opportunities for optimisation and scalability.
• Design, build, and maintain multi-dimensional data models, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead the development and maintenance of data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse and related technologies.
• Deliver high-impact projects on time and within scope, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to set and execute the data engineering strategy.
• Embrace a high-performance culture within the data engineering team, aligning efforts with the broader organisational goals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions that drive decision-making.
• Support the integration of data systems following acquisitions, ensuring seamless scalability.

What You Can Bring:

• Proven experience in data engineering leadership roles within enterprise-level organisations.
• Advanced proficiency in Azure data stack, including Synapse, Data Factory, and Databricks.
• Hands-on expertise in building and optimising scalable data pipelines and warehouses.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in financial services or asset/wealth management, with an understanding of control and risk factors.
• A proactive, go-getter attitude and the willingness to go above and beyond when necessary.
• A track record of scaling data teams and systems in rapidly growing environments.
