We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer/Full Stack Developer to join our team. You will utilise your experience to collaborate with other members of the team or directly with our business users to translate required business outcomes into value enabling solutions not only our business but also for our customers.

Primarily you will be responsible for the designing, implementation, and management of data pipelines, storage solutions, data integration and reporting capability to enable data-driven decision-making within the organisation. Actively ensuring we deliver on our responsibility to ensure data and reporting is available when needed/expected and to the highest quality to ensure the greatest impact.

What will you be doing?

As a Microsoft Data Engineer for BES Group, you will own the development and implement data and reporting solutions from our Dynamics, in-house and 3rd party sources, using the latest Microsoft technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics & Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services and Power BI.

You will:

  • Work with other members of the team or directly with business users to understand and document business requirements, evaluate options, research and propose suitable solutions. Using your stakeholder management skills to translate outcomes to business requirements and then design specifications for agreement and delivery
  • Ensure that all work is carried through the environments, source controlled with regularity and deployment packages are robust and well organised. Ensuring all conflicts in this area are merged/escalated effectively supporting the development and enhancement of our CI/CD pipelines. Take ownership for cut-over and hyper care.
  • Take an active role in ensuring the highest quality of our processes and the data we provide, working with system and business owners to ensure a proactive approach
  • Contribute to establishing best practice guidelines for code management and deployment between cloud MI environments
  • Take accountability to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve data process issues, across a range of tools within the Microsoft stack to ensure business SLA’S are met. With flexibility around out of hours support / deployments as necessary.
  • You will also support older Microsoft Technologies whilst we are in transition: SSIS and SSRS. Supporting change and migration efforts.

To join our team, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in development required
  • Successful delivery of complex Business Intelligence solutions using modern data platform & reporting technologies and services in Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python (PySpark) languages
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts
  • Experience of working with code management & deployment tools
  • Proficient in debugging, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting BI solutions.
  • Knowledge and a proven track record in data governance / data quality management
  • Ideally experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, F&O or Field Services as sources
  • Microsoft Certified against appropriate toolsets/technologies
