Join a global leader in social technology as a Media Data Analyst and make a real impact on how the world connects. This is an opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and technical expertise to shape communications strategies across diverse markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You will be at the forefront of media impact analysis, collaborating with a dynamic team to inform key decisions at a global scale.


As a Media Data Analyst, you will measure and interpret the impact of communications activities across channels including traditional press, social media, and owned platforms. Your insights will inform strategic communications planning and execution across EMEA. This is a 12-month UK remote contract, offering £24.52-£27.40 per hour (PAYE) – 40 hours/week. This role is open for a limited time. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 12:00 PM on Thursday 4 September. Due to high application volume, we may be unable to reply to every applicant.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor, summarize, and analyze media coverage across key EMEA markets, providing qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Conduct trend and sentiment analysis, contextualizing media activity within local and regional frameworks.
  • Provide up-to-date information on local and international news cycles and policy issues, considering cultural and linguistic nuances.
  • Design and manage scalable data pipelines and databases to automate the collection and processing of press and media data.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using tools like Unidash, utilizing APIs (Python, JavaScript) for dynamic updates.
  • Quantify the impact of communications efforts, establish KPIs, and create insightful reports to inform global communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and communications teams to integrate press data with internal datasets for comprehensive media measurement.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in media analysis, journalism, communications, research, or a related field (including roles at a media agency, media analysis firm, media measurement platform, or think tank).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills, including the ability to draft messaging materials and news summaries.
  • Experience handling and visualizing datasets in deadline-driven environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and optimizing large-scale datasets.
  • Basic programming skills in Python or JavaScript for scripting and automation.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Fluency in at least one additional EMEA language.
  • Experience with media monitoring tools and measurement projects.
  • Familiarity with internal data tools or similar platforms for dashboard development and analytics.
  • Knowledge of dashboard design principles and user experience considerations.
  • Experience with visualization libraries for customizing dashboard components.
  • Understanding of metrics and analytics within press and social media monitoring.
