Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Automotive)
Location: Wigan
Rate: £17.21 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM - 4:45 PM
Contract Type: Permanent

Overview:
LRL are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a busy and fast-paced team. This role will involve splicing and fibre testing on-site, contributing to the installation and commissioning of fibre optic systems.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a long-term project with the potential to earn additional bonus incentives based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out fibre splicing and OTDR testing to required specifications

Work to engineering drawings and installation schedules

Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards

Complete required documentation and test results accurately

Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met

Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

Adhere to site safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times

Requirements:

Valid Man ESC card - Essential

Proven experience with fibre splicing and fibre testing

Understanding of fibre networks and test equipment (e.g. OTDR, light source/power meter)

Ability to read and work from technical drawings and job packs

Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Two references from similar roles will be required

Additional Information:

39 hours per week over four days - long weekends every week

Bonus available if vehicles are completed ahead of schedule

Immediate starts available for the right candidates
