WHAT TO EXPECT


JLR Are currently looking for an experienced Master Data Engineer with experience in GCP, SQL, and Data Analytics. The Data Team is responsible for providing actionable analytics and diagnostics to the wider Industrial Operations teams. They work hand in hand with the Business Process & Capability Team to deliver best-in-class process improvements and business insights backed with data-driven diagnostics, and to architect digital products as part of a coherent solution within the wider supply chain digital ecosystem. Together, the Supply Chain digital function will transform JLR supply chain from within, supporting our colleagues and allowing them to make better, faster and more robust decisions based on our data. The end goal is to build a world class supply chain (Gartner maturity level 5) by the end of 2024

As a Data Engineer within Manufacturing, you will play a crucial role contributing towards our digital transformation. You will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining robust, scalable and cost-efficient data pipelines that will help deliver valuable insights to our customers. You will build data assets that are trustworthy, reliable and reusable, helping to drive decision making within Manufacturing.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Support the supply chain operations and project managers with co-creation of digital solutions to address challenges along the end-to-end supply chain. Discovering and recommending opportunities through your participation in day-to-day supply chain operations. Translate the requirements into a tangible, robust and well-documented product with a smooth UI/UX experience backed by re-usable data structures, flows and engineering components.  Identify, analyse and interpret trends in complex data sets, using statistics to deliver robust and accurate results in the face of variable data quality. Communicating conclusions to the business, advising on how to use these products to best utilise their capability, and ensuring their long-term adoption. Design, create, test and maintain data pipelines to support Digital projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Comprehensive previous experience in Data Engineering. Previous experience in one of the following functions: data analytics, software or application development, database development. Competent with SQL (Big Query) and experience of modern data-oriented architectures & databases. Experience with cloud data environments such as GCP and data pipeline orchestration products (Dataform/GitLab). Experience for data visualisation and experience with an associated tool (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.).
