Marketplace Business Development Manager | Hybrid/3 Days a Week In Office | Retail | Salary up to £70k Basic Plus Industry Leading Benefits

This role is pivotal in driving the growth and success of a rapidly expanding marketplace. The Business Development Manager - Marketplace Growth will identify new business opportunities, foster partnerships, and enhance the marketplace's offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the marketplace landscape, exceptional negotiation skills, and a passion for building relationships.

Main Responsibilities In The Position of Marketplace Business Development Manager Include:

Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
Analyse customer needs to develop effective strategies.
Attend trade fairs, marketplace seminars, and conferences to stay ahead of the market.
Identify brand gaps and devise strategies across multiple categories.
Represent the business in front of prospective seller partners and service providers.
Identify and establish partnerships with vendors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts to enhance marketplace offerings.
Promote the company and sign new partners/sellers.
Develop and implement business development strategies to drive marketplace growth.
Set and achieve sales targets and KPIs in line with company goals.
Work closely with aggregator partners and service providers to build joint growth plans.
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
Serve as the main point of contact for partners, addressing any concerns or inquiries.
Work alongside marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment on strategy execution.
Collaborate on promotional campaigns and initiatives.
Liaise with internal teams (legal, finance, IT, operations) to ensure smooth transitions and growth projects.
Monitor and report on marketplace performance, providing insights and recommendations.
Utilise data analytics to refine strategies and inform decision-making.
Build scalable processes for community development and daily operations.
Manage, train, and mentor the team to ensure KPIs and goals are met.
Ensure compliance with UK regulations, company policies, and FCA Conduct Rules.
Demonstrate behaviours in line with company values.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others.What We Are Looking For:

3-5 years of track record in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in a marketplace or e-commerce environment.
Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, trends, and best practices.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with data analysis and utilising insights to refine strategies.
A business degree is preferred but not essential.
A proactive, 'can-do' entrepreneurial attitude.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of retail.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Self-motivated with a track record of achieving targets and driving growth.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring teams.
Creative, innovative, and collaborative problem-solver.
Ability to influence without authority and engage with senior management effectively.
