Join Cleo's Growth team as a Lead Product Manager focused on notifications. This pivotal role centres around enhancing user engagement and retention through intelligent, personalised notifications. Leveraging machine learning models and tooling you will oversee the development and implementation of a sophisticated recommender system determining which notifications to send to which users, thereby significantly boosting app retention.

What you'll do

  1. Lead Notification Strategy:Drive the strategy and execution of Cleo's notification system, ensuring it is deeply integrated into the user experience to enhance engagement and retention.
  2. Optimise Through Machine Learning:Work closely with data scientists to refine and implement ML models that tailor notifications to user behaviours and preferences.
  3. Content Strategy Collaboration:Partner with Content Designers to develop engaging notification content tailored to drive user interaction and improve chat engagement.
  4. Team Leadership:Work with a talented cross-functional team comprising data scientists, ML ops, backend and front-end engineers, and analysts to deliver on project goals.
  5. Execution Excellence:Maintain a high standard of execution to ensure timely delivery of initiatives, overcoming obstacles and ensuring team alignment.

Outcome 1: Increase user retention

  1. Ship an ML-powered notification recommender that delivers personalised, timely, insightful messages.
  2. Work cross functionally with DS and Engineering to ensure the recommender can scale and have an objective function that's aligned with user needs and business objectives.
  3. Provide direction for Content Designers to build an engagement loop.

Outcome 2: Drive LTV with in-app messaging

  1. Develop and execute the strategy for in-app messaging (banners, prompts, and notification center).
  2. Improve conversion rates and reduce churn through contextual, targeted interventions.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Experience:6+ years in Product Management with a solid track record in user engagement, preferably within a tech-driven environment. Experience with notifications and in-app messaging channels are required. Experience in ML or tooling is a plus.
  2. Resilience and Grit:Demonstrates high resilience and the ability to unblock team challenges. Outspoken in identifying and addressing issues to push projects forward.
  3. Strategic and Data-Driven:Uses a data-driven approach to decision making, with a proven ability to lead teams through ambiguous situations effectively.
  4. Strong Execution and Technical Acumen:Exceptional at driving excellent execution within the team and understanding technical challenges without direct oversight of technical details.
  5. Leadership:Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and pushing for results.

How long will the process take?

We aim to move as fast as possible. Usually 2-3 weeks is enough time for us all to get to know each other.

  2. Step 2:45-60 minutes interview with our Head of Growth Product.
  3. Step 3:Live product sense interview, to be presented to two members of our Product and Growth teams.
  4. Step 4:45 minutes each with two cross-functional peers from Engineering, Design, Data Science, Commercial or Analytics.
