You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.


We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Cloud Platform Architect – Azure.
HSBC operates a ‘Cloud First’ strategy - we strongly believe that the future of our infrastructure is on the Cloud, both Public and Private to accelerate our business capabilities.We are looking for a step change in how we can leverage approved Cloud Services in a seamless way and the Lead Platform Cloud Architect role is essential to ensure the secure and effective enablement of Azure for the business.This is achieved through the creation of the Azure Foundation Platform which forms the basis of Azure adoption within the organisation.Under the guidance of the Principal Cloud Platform Architect, the Lead Platform Cloud Architect is part of a core team who provide leadership and direction to the HSBC Azure Foundation Platform and who are responsible for the high-level implementation and delivery approach of the platform.

In this role you will:

• Collaborate with Enterprise Cloud Architects to evolve the Cloud Strategy; and to define & execute the delivery of the strategy on the Azure Platform.
• Work with the Enterprise Cloud Architects, Amazon Web Services/Azure/AliCloud/Google Cloud Platform Lead Platform Architects and Chief Technology Office Cloud Services, to align cross-cloud technical and business processes.Examples include the evaluation and implementation of appropriate tooling and automation to support management of cloud platforms; standardising platform onboarding experience; identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and resilience; MI reporting; integration with existing enterprise tooling (eg change management).
• Partner with Cloud Security Architects and Cloud Data Architects to inform their respective Cloud Strategies and supporting them as a subject matter expert.
• Engage with Product Managers to ensure HSBC’s requirements are incorporated within their product roadmap and support HSBC Product Managers to drive the timely adoption of new technologies.
• Provide escalation assistance to the Cloud Platform teams.
• Understand appropriate Regulatory controls for Financial Institutions and the impact of material outsourcing.Provide appropriate support for our Regulatory engagements.
• Evangelise the Cloud Strategy across HSBC.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Extensive long standing practical and in depth knowledge of Azure Cloud.
• Experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, governance and compliance services,security services, and IAM
• Experience as an Architecture practitioner in a large-scale organisation and the demonstrable ability to extract requirements and make sound, motivatedrecommendations based on your Cloud knowledge.
• Experience with Azure Networking principles and the ability to empathise with and guide those transitioning from an on-premises networking paradigm.
• Track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable way.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively, and winning over a diverse set of stakeholders with compelling, appropriately positioned, and persuasive presentations.
• A background in Engineering roles (software, infrastructure, data) will enable you to empathise with your customers and the challenges they face.

This role is based in London, Edinburgh, Sheffield or Birmingham .
